We're looking forward to hosting our first ever Christmas event in Methven, at 7.30pm in the Little Acorn Café on Friday 14th December.
Let's Talk Christmas will include a short illustrated talk, some discussion about the real meaning of Christmas, and some seasonal refreshments served free of charge throughout!
If you're in the area, please come and join us - everyone will be made very welcome! If you live locally but need transport, please get in touch, we'd be happy to give you a lift!
We've been out distributing invitation cards to the event in the last day or two, along with calendars for 2019 - we probably didn't pick the best day for it with all the wind and rain!
“Greater love has no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
In almost every town and village in Perthshire lies a monument commemorating men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield. Virtually no Perthshire community has escaped unscathed from the devastating effects of war during the last century. On the 11th of November each year we remember those who lost their lives to secure freedom and a future for others. As the famous words of Robert Laurence Binyon’s poem say “We will remember them…”
Many of Perthshire’s war memorials contain Bible verses highlighting the value of personal sacrifice for the good of others. The most common is probably John 15:13 which records the words of Jesus Christ, “Greater love has no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.” The reason these words are often chosen is because they are particularly poignant as shortly after saying them Jesus Himself would exemplify that kind of love when He gave His life upon the cross as a sacrifice for sins to provide freedom and a future in Heaven for those who trust in Him.
On 4 Fridays in November we'll be in Crieff to share the good news of Jesus Christ. If you're free, please come and join us!
Friday 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th November
The Lecture Theatre, Strathearn Community Campus
Pittenzie Road, Crieff, PH7 3JN
The good news message of the Bible has transformed millions of lives down through the centuries. Come and hear more about it at these special public meetings.
Everyone will be made very welcome. Get in touch for more details.
It's a beautiful time of year in a beautiful part of the world...
Perthshire at it's best...
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
I hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze,
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!

The Bible is no ordinary book. Comprising of 66 books, written over a period of 1500 years, by around 40 different writers, it not only records the past but also predicts the future with perfect accuracy. It's God's inspired guidebook for mankind, containing instructions for living and directions to Heaven. It's therefore well worth reading and unsurprisingly it's the biggest selling book in history.
It's such an important book that we want to give away some copies free of charge so you can read it for yourself! The offer applies to anyone living within Perthshire. Just get in touch with your name and address and we'll arrange to get a copy of the Bible to you as soon as possible.
We were back in Perth High Street today with the Good News Trailer - it was great to see so many people and pigeons!
As well as a monthly visit to the High Street, the trailer is also used as a Soup Kitchen every Monday night from 7.30-8.30pm in Thimblerow Car Park in Perth, so if you're struggling, please pop along and see us for some help.
We've enjoyed spending the last couple of days at Perth Show, meeting folk from throughout Perthshire and beyond!
Thanks to all the kids who took part in our games, and to all the adults who entered our competition - including MSPs Murdo Fraser and Liz Smith (in case you were wondering... they got full marks in identifying the towns and villages of Perthshire and also got the closest guess to the total number of words in the Bible!)
We've now drawn the competition prizewinner from all the entrants and will be in touch with them soon regarding their prize (afternoon tea for two at Loch Leven's Larder)!
