What is good news Perthshire?

Good News Perthshire was set up in early 2017 by a group of born again Christians who are part of the church which meets at Perth Gospel Hall (www.perthgospelhall.com & www.facebook.com/perthgospelhall).

​Through a variety of means, including literature distribution, social media activity, community visits, participation in local events, Bible study groups, and public talks, our simple aim is to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ in a clear and simple way to people of all ages throughout Perthshire.

​We ourselves have found forgiveness, peace, love, joy and hope through the Gospel and so our simple desire is to share it with others that they might enjoy the same.​

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

Below is a brief summary of what we believe. If you have any further questions not answered here please contact us.

  1. We believe the Bible to be the Divinely inspired Word of God, in which God fully reveals His message for mankind. The Bible is our infallible guide for salvation and for the Christian life. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
  3. We believe that man was created in the image of God and is accountable to Him as Creator. (Genesis 1:27)
  4. ​​We believe that every individual who has ever lived (with the exception of Jesus Christ) has broken God's law and fallen short of His standard. (Romans 3:23)
  5. We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth and His perfect sinless humanity. (John 1:1&14, Matthew 1:20-21, 1 Peter 2:21-22)
  6. We believe that Christ died for our sins upon the cross, and was raised again the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
  7. We believe that God provides forgiveness of sins, eternal life and a home in Heaven as a free gift to all who repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, Acts 16:30-31)
  8. We believe that Christ will one day return to the air to take all believers to be with Himself forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) and that subsequent to this He will return to the earth in glory to reign in righteousness. (Zechariah 14)
  9. We believe in the ordinance of baptism by immersion upon an individual's personal confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Baptism symbolises that a person has died to a life of sin and that they have been raised to live a new life of holiness in Christ. (Acts 8:36-39)
  10. We believe in the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper, observed on the first day of each week, through which believers remember the Lord Jesus Christ by partaking of bread and wine, symbolising His body and His blood. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
